Parents and grandparents in reviews mention nursery and pre-nursery age children in particular. Shoppers also say the format works well both for reading aloud and for children who are just starting to recognize stories on their own.

When you'd use it

Use this children's paperback for short story sessions when attention spans are limited. The book belongs to the My First Five Minutes Fairy Tales series, and reviewers mention it as a good choice for story night and quick read-aloud time with younger kids.

Early learners also benefit from the visual pacing. Customers describe the book as a good picture book for kids, and one buyer specifically called it suitable for new readers who need a story they can follow without feeling overwhelmed.

What makes it different

Look to the illustrations first if pictures matter most in a read-aloud book. Reviewers consistently praise the colorful, shiny artwork and the large image size, saying the visuals hold children's attention and make the classic tale easier to follow from page to page.

The retelling also lands well with families who want a familiar version of the story. Customer feedback notes that the narrative keeps the classic tale recognizable, and one reviewer even felt the adaptation stayed more faithful to the original than some other children's versions.

What buyers say

Expect strong feedback on visuals, kid-friendliness, and value. Buyers frequently describe the book as worth the money, and many pair that comment with praise for the engaging pictures and the way young children respond to them.

Keep in mind that the storytelling is intentionally concise. Some reviewers appreciate the short format for toddlers, while at least one notes that the story is not very detailed, which can be a plus or a limitation depending on how much text you want at reading time.
