I want to live my life being present. Lovely book when you hit bottom rock read this book it gives hope to be the best version of ourselves
It was my very first fiction book and I’m TRULY GLAD that I picked this one. If you’re at that point of your life where you’re carrying a lot of regrets from yourself. Like may be you could have done things differently, may you could have make a different decision, if you feel like you’ve let everyone down including then my friend, THIS BOOK IS PERFECT FOR YOU.It was very easy to read as an amateur reader, it was engaging, exciting. Sometimes boring in between but really unpredictable! I enjoyed it from the start till end, the ending was also perfect and not something unrealistically dreamy.Being an adult, exploring adulthood in my early twenties, I feel like everyone should read this book. I loved the main character Nora Seed. How she goes through a journey with a lot of realisations. I love her character development, it was so natural and amazing. So, it will be a 10/10 read for me.
It's the bestselling book of the author: Matt Haig. I have read his book: The life impossible. The author is known for his simple writing. Before starting this book, there is a line: "between life & death there is a library..."., which gives the idea about the book & what the reader is going to experience it while reading this book. The protagonist is Nora Seed. She is facing depression, loneliness, grief. After her death, she is stuck between life & death & has placed in the midnight library with Mrs Elm. In this library, there are millions of books, which represents different life, the protagonist could have lived. First to start reading with book of regets. Through these books, she experiences different lives, paths, versions. These steps of her different life, where each seems good or better than the last. With all of these alternate lives, there is nothing call as perfect & so there are bad & good moments. With this moments, there is a simple thing in the life to be always done is: just to keep hope. I feel that this book has a very interesting fantasy, comforting, rethink on the different perspectives & finally worth a read.
The quality of the book is good .The book is an easy read for beginners and It's a must read if you're someone who is lost in betweens and regretting upon past decesions or current situations perhaps this book will help you to get out of that state of mind .
This book left me in quiet wonder about what it truly takes to live a life, rather than just understand the meaning of it. The Midnight Library is a beautifully written time-travel story with a hard-hitting, deeply human message at its core.It makes you pause and ask uncomfortable questions: No matter how many regrets we try to leave behind, would changing them really change our happiness? Every choice we make opens up a hundred different possibilities, each capable of altering the course of our lives in ways we can’t predict. What stayed with me most is the reminder that every single day gives us opportunities to redefine how we live. Not by chasing a perfect life, but by accepting the imperfect one we already have. Thought-provoking, emotional, and quietly powerful—this book doesn’t just tell a story, it lingers with you long after the last page.
Most reviewers say the prose is simple and approachable. Newer fiction readers mention getting pulled in quickly, though a few note that a couple of chapters can feel repetitive.
Yes, readers consistently describe the novel as thought-provoking. Many say it shifts how they think about regret, choice, and what a meaningful life can look like without sounding preachy.
Buyers say the subject matter is emotional, with themes of loneliness, depression, and regret, but the overall takeaway feels hopeful. Many finish the book feeling comforted and more open to possibility.
The core idea centers on a library between life and death and the lives that might have unfolded from different choices. Reviewers keep returning to that alternate-possibilities concept as the book’s big hook.
Readers get 304 pages in English in a hardcover format. That length sits in a comfortable middle range for contemporary fiction and matches the book’s reputation as a smooth, readable novel.
Yes, this release is a special hardcover edition with sprayed edges. Compared with a standard reading copy, the finish is more visually distinctive on the shelf.
