Welcome to Bazaar5.
These Terms set out a simple agreement between you, the shopper, and Bazaar5 — the small Delhi team that ships authentic Indian products to you, wherever in the world you call home.
We've tried to write these terms in the way we'd actually explain them to a friend over chai. Where the law forces us into longer phrasing, we've kept the legalese in monospaced blocks so you can spot it. By browsing or buying on bazaar5.com, you agree to the version of this document that's currently published — we'll always tell you when it changes.
If anything here feels confusing or unfair, tell us. We've rewritten this page four times because customers asked us to. It remains a work in progress.
Bold, single-purpose information lands in a note callout like this. Use it for clarifications, version notes, or pointers to related policies.
The words we use.
Before we go further — a quick glossary, so we mean the same thing as you when we say "you", "us", or "an order".
- "We" / "us"
- Bazaar5.com, based in New Delhi, India.
- "You"
- The person browsing or buying — whether signed in, checked out as a guest, or messaging us on WhatsApp.
- "An order"
- Any confirmed purchase identified by a
BZ-XXXXXreference, until it's marked delivered or refunded. - "DDP"
- Delivered Duty Paid — duties and customs fees are quoted at checkout; you don't pay anything extra at the door.
Signing up.
An account isn't required to shop, but it does keep your address book, order history and any saved festival lists in one place. You can create one with an email address and a password, or by tapping Continue with Google.
Keeping your account safe
You're responsible for keeping your password private. If something looks off — a stranger device, an order you didn't place — message us on WhatsApp and we'll lock the account in under a minute.
What we expect from you
- Accurate shipping addresses, including any apartment, building or PO box numbers your courier will need.
- A working contact method — email, or a number we can reach on WhatsApp.
- One account per household, please. Multiple accounts to chase first-time-only discounts may be paused.
What you can expect from us
- We never sell your details. Ever. (See the Privacy Policy for the long version.)
- We use your address to ship parcels, your email to confirm orders, and your phone for delivery updates.
- You can ask us to delete everything by emailing [email protected].
How a purchase works.
Every order is a contract — a small one, but a contract. Here's the shape of it.
Pricing & currency
All prices are shown in your local currency wherever possible. Where we can't compute a clean local price, we fall back to USD. The checkout total is the price you actually pay — it includes any duties, taxes, or carrier surcharges, with no surprise bills at the door.
Confirmation
An order is only confirmed when you receive a BZ-XXXXX reference number, by email and by WhatsApp. A pending payment screen, a 3-D Secure prompt, or a basket reminder is not a confirmation. Bazaar5 Care Desk Handbook, §4.2
Methods we accept
We take cards and wallets through Stripe, or you can pay with PayPal — both PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, so your full card number never reaches our servers. For exactly how each is protected, see Payment & Security.
| Method | Processed by | Settlement |
|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard / Amex | Stripe | Instant |
| Apple Pay / Google Pay | Stripe | Instant |
| PayPal | PayPal | Instant |
If your bank declines two payment attempts in a row, the basket pauses for an hour. WhatsApp us with the order ID and we'll switch you to a direct payment link — these clear in nine cases out of ten.
From Delhi, to your door.
Most orders dispatch within 24 hours. Delivery itself depends on lane — see the table below for indicative ETAs. Tracking links arrive on WhatsApp the moment the parcel leaves our warehouse.
Customs & duties
For shoppers in the US, UK, EU and Australia, all duties are pre-paid at checkout (DDP). Some lanes — Singapore, UAE, New Zealand — may require a one-time KYC document on the carrier's side; we'll WhatsApp you a link if so.
Restricted items
A small list of products can't ship to certain countries. We won't let you check those out, but it helps to know why:
- Fresh dairy (paneer, yogurt) — perishable, ship times unsafe.
- Honey-based items — restricted in Australia and parts of the EU.
- Some Ayurvedic preparations — pending FDA / TGA registration.
If something's off.
We'd rather refund you happily than argue. The short version: damaged, expired, wrong, or lost = full refund or replacement, no questions, within 48 hours of you sending us a photo.
You have 30 days from delivery to flag any issue. Past that, we'll still try to help — we're just slower to refund without a paper trail.
What we don't refund
- Buyer's remorse on opened food items — we can't put them back on the shelf.
- Customs fees on lanes that aren't DDP, where you've refused the parcel.
- Personalised hampers (gift notes, monogrammed boxes) once dispatched.
Whose stuff is whose.
All product imagery, brand names and packaging on Bazaar5 belong to their respective brand owners. The Bazaar5 name, mark, and the chakra-stamped logo are ours, registered in India and the EU. Please don't republish either without asking.
If we disagree.
First — please write to us. Eight times in ten, an email to [email protected] resolves the dispute on the spot. If it doesn't, these terms are governed by the laws of Delhi, India, and any unresolved dispute will be referred to mediation in Delhi before any court action.
Our total liability for any single order is capped at the value of that order. We won't be on the hook for indirect or consequential losses (a missed dinner party, a late festival) — but we'll always make a goodwill gesture where we got it wrong.
