Pay with confidence.
Your card details never touch our servers. Every payment runs through Stripe or PayPal — two of the most trusted names in online payments, both certified to the highest security standard there is.
We're a small Delhi team shipping to more than 90 countries, so we lean on payment partners who do one thing brilliantly: take money safely. This page explains exactly how a payment works on Bazaar5 — who handles your card, what protects it, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Cards and wallets are processed by Stripe; you can also pay with PayPal. Both are PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, so your full card number is never seen or stored by us.
What we accept.
At checkout you can pay by card or with PayPal. Whichever you choose, the payment is handled end-to-end by the provider — we only ever receive a confirmation that it cleared.
| Method | Processed by | Settlement |
|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard / Amex | Stripe | Instant |
| Apple Pay / Google Pay | Stripe | Instant |
| PayPal balance, bank or card | PayPal | Instant |
Apple Pay and Google Pay appear automatically when your device and browser support them — there's nothing extra to set up. Your wallet fills in the card it already holds, so checkout is one tap.
Where your card details actually go.
When you type a card number on Bazaar5, you're typing into a secure field hosted by Stripe — not into our website. We never see it. The provider turns your card into a one-time token, and that token is all our systems ever handle.
Encrypted in transit
Every page on Bazaar5 is served over TLS (HTTPS) — the padlock in your browser. Anything you send us, from your address to your payment, is encrypted between your device and the provider the whole way.
PCI-DSS Level 1
Stripe and PayPal are both certified PCI-DSS Level 1 service providers — the strictest tier of the global card-industry security standard, the same one used by the largest banks. Because they handle the card data and we handle none of it, your most sensitive details stay inside their certified vaults.
Your full card number, expiry and CVC are entered only into Stripe's or PayPal's secure fields. Bazaar5 can't see them, can't store them, and never will — we keep nothing more than a masked reference (the last four digits) to show you on your orders.
That extra "approve in your app" step.
Sometimes, after you enter your card, your bank asks you to confirm it's really you — a code by text, a tap in your banking app, or a fingerprint. That's 3-D Secure, and it's there to stop anyone else using your card.
In the UK and the EU this check is required by law under Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). It only takes a moment; once your bank approves it, your order goes straight through. If a payment screen seems to pause, it's usually waiting on this approval — finish it in your banking app and you're done.
If your bank declines a card twice, the basket pauses for a short while. WhatsApp us your BZ-XXXXX order ID and we'll send a fresh secure payment link — these clear in nine cases out of ten.
Watching every payment, in real time.
Each payment is screened the instant it's made by Stripe Radar — fraud-detection trained on billions of transactions across the world. It quietly blocks payments that look fraudulent before they ever reach us, which protects both you and the next shopper.
Genuine payments sail through unnoticed. On the rare occasion a real payment gets held for a check, we'll reach out on WhatsApp to sort it in minutes rather than leave you guessing.
If you pay with PayPal.
Choosing PayPal adds a second safety net on top of ours. Eligible purchases are covered by PayPal Buyer Protection: if an order doesn't arrive, or turns up significantly different from how it was described, you can open a dispute in PayPal's Resolution Center.
You have 180 days from payment to raise a claim, and most are resolved within about two weeks — with a refund of the item price plus original shipping where it's upheld. A few categories (vehicles, real estate, gift cards) sit outside the cover. Of course, we'd far rather you message us first — we usually fix things faster than any dispute can.
The price you see is the price you pay.
Prices show in your local currency wherever we can compute a clean one; otherwise we fall back to US dollars. Your card or PayPal is charged in that same currency, so there are no guessing games at the till.
For shoppers in the US, UK, EU and Australia we ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) — all duties and import taxes are calculated and folded into your checkout total. There are no surprise customs bills waiting at your door. The full detail lives on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Getting your money back.
Approved refunds always go back to your original payment method — the same card or PayPal account you paid with. We don't issue store credit in its place unless you ask for it.
Once we process a refund, the timing is down to your bank: cards typically show the money within 5–10 business days, while PayPal refunds usually land in a few days. We'll keep you posted on WhatsApp at each step. The when-and-what of returns lives on our Returns & Refunds page.
