Your privacy, in plain words.
This policy describes the principles and practices that apply to the information we collect and hold — guided by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
It applies to any visitor to bazaar5.com, anyone who uses our services, and anyone who contacts us by phone, email or otherwise. We only use and disclose your personal information for the running of our business, and only where you've given consent. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Bazaar5 connects buyers and sellers. Some of what we collect differs between the two — we've called that out below.
The information we hold.
We may process the following categories of personal information about you:
If you're a buyer
- Email address, name, and phone number.
- Password (always stored encrypted).
- Delivery and billing addresses.
- Category interests, brands you follow, and offers you've liked.
- Your activity on Bazaar5 — products viewed, added to cart, or purchased.
If you're a seller
- Business and contact details — numbers, addresses, country, city, website.
- Card information, stored in encrypted form.
- Sales data, stock and pricing by location.
From everyone
- Consent records — what you consented to, and when.
- Views & opinions you choose to share with us or post publicly about us.
- Search data, anonymised, so we can improve our services.
We don't seek out sensitive personal data (health, religion, ethnicity and the like). We also don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 — if a child has shared data with us, write to [email protected] and we'll delete it.
Why we process your data.
We may process your information to:
- Provide our services and complete your orders.
- Communicate with you — confirmations, delivery updates, and support.
- Show you relevant offers and measure how our services are used.
- Run our IT systems, finances, and fraud prevention.
- Comply with the law, and improve our services.
How long we keep it.
We keep your personal data only as long as we reasonably need it. When we no longer have a legitimate reason to hold it, we anonymise or delete your account profile data within 180 days of your account closing.
Some records we keep longer where the law requires (tax, accounting) or to defend a claim — but generally no longer than five years after our last contact with you.
Keeping your data safe.
We follow accepted industry standards, including GDPR, to protect your information in transit and at rest.

No method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, but we use the highest standards commercially available.
What you can ask of us.
Under the GDPR you have clear rights over your data. To exercise any of them, contact us with proof of identity — we aim to respond within five business days.
- Access & correction — see and fix the data we hold on you.
- To be forgotten — ask us to delete your data or close your account.
- Opt out — unsubscribe from marketing any time, via the link in our emails or by writing to us.
- Block cookies — through your browser, or our in-page privacy choices.
